True christianity is living by the life of Jesus (Jesus is the Tree of Life). God created man to live by the indwelling presence of Him. But Adam by his free will choice violated God's commandment and chose to live by the knowledge of good and evil. Adam and Eve were chased out from the garden of Eden and their access to the tree of life was cut off. (Genesis 3:22-24). As a result of that disobedience, the whole humanity became spiritually dead, and has to live by the knowledge of good and evil. The spiritually dead man with out the law in his heart is dangerous, and can never bring back to the place of redemption, so this law is engrafted in human heart (conscience). Every human being who is born in the earth is born with this law in his heart (conscience).
All the religions of the world originates from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and is a way of the fallen man to reach God. I would like to call this tree as tree of religion, tree of law, tree of independance, tree of rules and regulations, tree of morals, tree of human wisdom, tree of works, tree of deception, tree of principles and laws, tree of judgement and tree of the ministry of death. What this tree ministered to us is spiritual death, and it teaches how to meet the standard's of God by our own efforts.
All the religions of the world teaches how to please God by human efforts. Live right, do good and get good, love God and hate evil, fast, pray etc. Even in the Old Testament we are seeing an angry God who demands these things from man, and is true that man has to do all these things at that time. I do believe the need of religion until some one (Jesus) fulfills the law and opened the way to the tree of life. Jesus did it all on our behalf, so all we have to do is relax and enjoy His life.
The cross of Jesus opened a new and living way (Heb 10:20) for the humanity and abolished the need for all religions. The cross of Jesus is about the obedience of Jesus on the behalf of the whole human race. Through the cross of Jesus, the whole humanity now has the access to the tree of life. This is the greatest event and the greatest news for the whole human race. This is the gospel of Jesus and this good news must be proclaimed all over the world.
It is sad to admit that majority of the so called Christians are still in the religion called Christian religion (the do-do Christianity), and they think they must do certain things to please God. The only thing that pleases God is our faith in Jesus and what He did for us on the cross. They see the Bible as a book of moral teachings, laws and principles, instead of seeing as the Book of Life. They see Christianity as followers of a new set of doctrines, rules and regulations. They trust in their ability to live right than trusting in the indwelling presence of Jesus in them.
These religious christians thinks that when they accepted Jesus as their saviour, they got the power of Jesus to do right and live right or to fulfill the laws, which is absolutely not the Word of God. God wants your self (I) to be on the cross, and let Jesus to be on the throne of your life. Submit your soulish ability to do right and live right at the cross and yield to HIS LIFE. The true gospel preaching will slowly lead us to put our self (I) on the cross, and let Him live through us. Let the light of the glorious gospel deliver you from this deception of the devil.
Adam through disobedience gave birth to a race of soulish men (I). All that Jesus taught and preached during His three and half years ministry is to put an end to our self and to trust in Him. Pharisees and Saducees could not submit their soulish ability to live right and accept Him.
We no longer have to live by the knowledge of good and evil, we must live by the life of Jesus. When we live by the life of Jesus, we will live over and above all the moral standards; we will live right, talk right, dress right, do good and walk in victory. All our teachings and preachings must be based on how we can yield to the life of Jesus through us. It is not about us living for Christ, it is about we letting Christ to live through us. No longer I, but Christ, is the core of christianity. The only true christian is Christ himself, so let Christ live through us.
Adam took a detour to God's plan and messed up the whole human race, but Jesus put us back to the right path, living by the indwelling presence of God. This is True Christianity.
