Romans 6:7
For he who has died has been freed from sin.
Whenever I read this verse, I had difficulty in understanding this verse. I believe, along with me are many other sincere Christian who are struggling to understand this verse. I believe I have the answer now. This verse says that if we are born again we are freed from sin. However, in reality, all of us are struggling with some sin issues. How can we believe that we are freed from sin, while we are struggling with sin?
If you think you have no struggle with sin, you are living under a lie and must understand the true meaning of sin from the verses Romans 14:23, James 4:14 and James 2:10. I have not come across a single person living in this planet earth who has achieved sinless perfection. I believe we are blameless in the sight of God, because Jesus already paid off of our past, present and future sins [1 Thess 5:23].
So, what must be the sin we are freed from? The sin of living by the knowledge of good and evil, or living by the law.
This is talking about the sin that Adam committed, which dragged the whole human race to live by the knowledge of good and evil [Law]. Adam, the representative of the whole human race decided to live by the Law, which was a forbidden way according to God. Since Adam chose the way for the whole human race, we had no choice other than living by the law, until someone fulfills it [Mathew 5:18]. Jesus, the Last Adam, became our law man representative, born in the law, fulfilled the law and delivered the humanity from the Law.
When Adam ate the forbidden fruit, the whole human race was in him. Likewise, when Jesus our law man representative went to the cross, died and buried, the whole human race was in Him. So everything that Jesus went through, we also participated in Him. We were crucified, died and buried with Him, this is the Bible logic. When Jesus fulfilled the law and died on the cross, the [Law] forbidden way that was opened by First Adam is closed once and forever for humanity, and the race [law man] that was given birth by First Adam was dead once and forever. I wonder when will the church recognize this truth. The church is still afraid of the old man who is dead and is preaching a way, which is no longer existing.
The world is still living in a way, which is no longer existing and is struggling with issues of the old man who was dead 2000 years ago. This sounds like absolute foolishness, but this is the message of the cross.
1Corinthians 1:18
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:22-25
For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; 23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men
Jesus on resurrection, gave birth to a new man race and a new and living way (Grace). Those who believe in the resurrection of Jesus and accepted Him as the savior became a partaker of the new man race. This new creation is freed from sin and have only one commandment "Though shall live by the indwelling presence of Jesus" or "Thou shall not live by the knowledge of good and evil".
The whole world participated up to the burial of Last Adam, but only those who believe in the resurrection of Jesus participate in resurrection and be saved. When first Adam sinned, we were all in Adam, that is how we become a partaker of his sin. The answer to all human problems and issues are in found in the new man and the new way of living. So preach the True Gospel.
