The Origin of Sin - Part 5

Eve was decieved, not Adam
By Bro.Thomas Chakkalackal PMP, MSc, M.S

1Timothy 2:14
For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.

The Bible clearly says that Adam was not deceived. If you believe this truth, then we must look into the possibilities of how and what made Adam give himself into the hands of the devil. I believe Adam was so much in love with Eve, that he did not want to lose his woman into the world of the knowledge of good and evil alone. I would like you to extend your imagination here to understand the truth, Adam might have noticed some changes in her after she ate the fruit from the knowledge of good and evil. Fear of losing her caused him to hearken unto the voice of his wife and eat the forbidden fruit [Genesis 3:17].

Adam willingly gave himself into the hands of the devil, because of his love towards Eve.

You might be wondering and asking me, "Tom, why are you trying to read between the lines and bring out something, which is not in the Bible?". Don't worry, I will prove that I always stay within the perimeter of the Word of God. Always we have to understand that, what Jesus did on the Cross was a reversal of what Adam did in the garden of Eden. Every step that Jesus took in the earth was a reversal of Adam's step that led him to the treason in the garden. Jesus the Last Adam fulfilled the law, paid the price for First Adam's treason on the cross and said "It is finished".

Jesus willingly gave himself to be a sin for us because of His love towards us.

Jesus loves the humanity so much, which caused him to give his life to save us. He willingly gave himself into the hands of the devil. Adam also willingly or knowingly gave himself into the hands of the devil, because of his love toward Eve. Don't misunderstand me, though the cross of Jesus was the master plan of God, it was all because of the disobedience of Adam. If there was no fall, there would be no need of the cross.

Adam was the husband and Eve was the wife; Likewise Jesus is our husband and we [church] are His bride. Adam gave up His eternal life to become like Eve in disobedience, but Jesus gave up His eternal life to become like one of us [Sinner] to save us, which was an act of obedience. Jesus had the power to lay down his eternal life and take it back [ John 10:18]. On the Cross, He laid down His eternal life for us and took back His life after the payment for sin is over. 2 Corinthians 5:21 say that "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him".

I believe, from the cross Jesus went down to the bottom of the pit of hell as a punishment for the sins of the whole world. Satan and his conglomerates thought that they got Jesus in their trap, but Jesus took back his eternal life and became the first born, delivered the Old Testament saints from the hades, went up to the father and present himself as the first fruit.
